Since launching Canada Security Collective, we’ve been focused on one core question: How do we build a strong, well trained and inclusive security workforce across Canada?

The answer, we believe, starts with education. Over the past few months, we’ve been laying the groundwork for CSC’s national education initiative—an ambitious, volunteer-led effort to create curriculum-style learning tracks that reflect the real needs of the industry.

We’ve organized our efforts into five foundational categories, covering everything from enterprise security and consulting to frontline operations and systems expertise. These categories are designed to support professionals at every stage—from those just entering the field to those looking to deepen or shift their focus.

This is a phased approach, built on collaboration and community input. We’re intentionally leaving space to grow—adding new tracks, expanding into public sector and defense, and cybersecurity as funding allows.

What We've Already Started
CSC’s momentum is already taking shape through a series of fall networking events in Edmonton.

  • On August 27th, we hosted a rooftop launch party to celebrate CSC’s beginnings and welcome new voices into the fold. It was a night of community, creativity, and connection—the kind of energy we’re carrying forward into every event.
  • We’ve also begun hosting intimate gatherings designed to spark conversation and build relationships across sectors. These events are intentional, inclusive, and rooted in the belief that real change starts with real connection.

What’s Ahead

  • CSC 2025
Our inaugural national conference is launching in Edmonton on November 17, 2025, bringing together security professionals from across Canada for a full day of learning, connection, and collaboration. • Speaker Series
We’re kicking off our CSC Speaker Series with a lunch event in Edmonton on October 22nd, featuring Randy King, a respected voice in personal safety and conflict management. • Calgary Events
CSC is expanding into Calgary with a speaker breakfast in November, bringing together local professionals for early-morning connection and conversation. In the new year, we’ll host a CSC Calgary conference, continuing our commitment to regional engagement and workforce development. These events will reflect the same intentionality and warmth that have defined our Edmonton gatherings—just with a Calgary twist.
  • Ottawa in Q1
We’ve begun laying the foundation for a CSC event in Ottawa in early 2026, This event will be a key step in CSC’s coast-to-coast vision, bringing together voices from government, defense, and industry to explore shared challenges and opportunities.

If you’ve been following along, thank you. If you’re new here, welcome. The work we’re doing now will shape the next generation of security professionals in Canada—and we’re just getting started.
